Beautifully woven and decorated with anthropo- and zoomorphic patterns of horses, peacocks, lizards, small birds, humans or deities and some mythical creatures. All the silhouettes have a simple, geometric style and are kept in yellow and red tones above the dark-brown background. The lower and the upper part decorated with multi-coloured fabric ribbon in geometric pattern and ending in black fringes.
The Naga are an ancient tribe found in the hills of Northeast India and North-Western Burma. They have a long and rich tradition of textile weaving and are renowned for their colourful body decorations as well as for headhunting.
