A RARE KONDH TRIBAL BRONZE OF A WARRIOR ON A HORSE WITH WHEELS
Copper bronze
Eastern India, Kondh Tribe, late 19th – early 20th century
The warrior is seated on the horse’s back, holding in one hand the reigns attached to the horse and in the other a weapon. Interestingly, the horse has four wheels attached to its feet. Similar examples of horses with wheels are known from the art of the Bastar.

Condition: Fair condition with imperfections to casting, wear and minor corrosion
