AN EXCEPTIONAL BASTAR BRONZE OF A FEMALE DEITY WITH A TRIDENT

The female goddess is standing on a circular base decorated with cord borders and lattice design. From the shoulders rises a curved vahadi, which is a kind of god saw brine and symbolises holiness. It is adorned with small rows of volutes and carries at the top a decorated khappar (vessel). The figure is holding a trident in the left hand symbolising the Trisula attributes, while the right hand is holding a dhengri (rattle). The robe is adorned with very fine details.
