A RARE AND LARGE KONDH TRIBAL BRONZE OF A WARRIOR HOLDING A DRUM

Eastern India, Kondh Tribe, late 19th – early 20th century
The warrior is standing on a large base, covered with the characteristic ‘wire mesh pattern’ of the Kondh tribe, and is holding a large drum in his hands. He is wearing ornate jewelry, rings around his neck and a ceremonial headdress in the shape of a trident. A rare and superb bronze.

Condition: Very good condition, with a fine patina
