A KONDH TRIBAL BRONZE GROUP OF A WARRIOR RIDING AN ELEPHANT

Eastern India, Kondh Tribe, late 19th – early 20th century
The group consisting of two separate pieces – the warrior with a long weapon and expressed male genitals, and the elephant with mountings on the back to support the warrior. The elephant has further supports on its feet, since it was probably part of an even larger group.
Dimensions: 18.8 x 18 CM (H x L)
Condition: Very good condition, attractive black patina
