Copper bronze
Eastern India, Kondh Tribe, late 19th – early 20th century
The group consisting of three separate bronzes with the, for the Kondh tribe characteristic, ‘wire mesh pattern’. The largest bird is easily recognized as a peacock, with long tail feathers, crest plumage, spirals along the tail and typical avian feet. The second bird is depicting a young peacock.
