TWO KONDH TRIBAL BRONZE OF GOATS
TWO KONDH TRIBAL BRONZE OF GOATS
Copper bronze
Eastern India, Kondh Tribe, late 19th – early 20th century
The group consists of two goats with large and thin horns, another popular livestock of the Kondh tribe. One of the goats with unusually long legs and a jovial expression. The other goat with large ears and lobes with a distinct spiral pattern. This group shows especially well the differences in artistic interpretations of the animals the tribe lived with.
