THREE SILVER ANIMAL BOXES AND COVERS
THREE SILVER ANIMAL BOXES AND COVERS
Silver, repoussé
Thailand, 19th to 20th century
Two of these three silver boxes and covers feature repoussé work. The larger of these is crafted in the shape of a mythical goat with a curved horn on its nose (almost) like a unicorn, while the smaller one probably represents a dog. The third box shows a squirrel with a bushy, S-shaped tail. All three pieces have red inlaid eyes, and lively expressions veering towards the humorous. Marks on the underside.
