ANGKOR PERIOD KHMER CERAMIC TORTOISE VESSEL – 11th/12th CENTURY
Low-fired stoneware, covered with a brittle brown to near black glaze
Khmer Empire, Angkor Period - 11th to 12th century
Fine vessel in shape of a tortoise with an elaborate turtles’ armor. Spout at the back, figural tail, feet and head originally attached. Neatly incised diamond shaped decoration. A non-matching lid is included.
Dimensions: HEIGHT 10 CM, LENGTH 19.5 cm
Condition: Optical appearance very good, some hardly noticeable restorations
