Small, standing figure of a markedly broad-shouldered man, both arms at his side. The head is emphatically large, the facial features very expressive in their design. Ceremonial cap, large earrings, wide mouth and bared teeth. The back is mostly flat. Dark gray color. The Mante?o culture existed between about 850 and 1600 and was located in the territory previously occupied by the older Valdivia culture.
