Description: Four gilded cobras from a Canopic Chest, Egypt, New Kingdom, 18th dynasty, 1551-1306 B.C., between 11 and 13 cm high // The bodies, made of wood and gilded, are inlaid with blue, red and turquoise colored glass (partly replaced or restored). The blue faience heads are fixed to the body by a bronze peg. The eyes are glass. The solar disks, made of wood, are gilded.
