TIBET, CIRCA 14TH CENTURYHimalayan Art Resources item no.61936 6 1/8 in. (15.5 cm) high
注脚
西藏 約十四世紀 銅鎏金無量壽佛坐像 Amitayus is seated in dhyanasana on a double lotus throne, supporting a long-life vase in his lap. His foliate jewelry is richly chased and inset with turquoise and coral. The face has a benevolent expression with downcast eyes, a bow-shaped mouth of outlined lips, and delicately arched eyebrows in relief. The robust physiognomy and broad lotus leaves are characteristic of 14th-century Tibetan sculpture produced by expert Newari caster. This bronze compares favorably to a closely related example published in von Schroeder, Indo-Tibetan Bronzes, Hong Kong, 1981, p.364, no.98B, and another sold at Bonhams, New York, 19 March 2018, lot 3017. Provenance Estate of Dorothy Beskind (1917-2014), New York Thence by descent
