The group comprises:
A paperweight cast as a seated figure of Shoulao; a paperweight cast as a seated Buddhist lion with a brocade ball on a circular drum; a water dropper cast as a recumbent smiling Budai; a water dropper in the shape of a recumbent Li Bai holding a peach branch; and a seated Budai on a double lotus base.
The seated Shoulao: 6.6 cm. high
The Buddhist lion paperweight: 5.8 cm. high
The recumbent Budai: 6.5 cm. wide
The Li Bai water dropper: 6 cm. wide
The Seated Budai: 6 cm. high
Provenance: from a private Dutch collection.
Condition: The Buddhist lion paper weight: dents to the underside, the base possibly resealed.
The Li Bai water dropper: there is a small patch to the underside (approx. 1 cm.).
The Seated Budai: there are traces of gilt lacquer.
All: with minor dents and wear.
