The upper section is modelled as a circular openwork medallion enclosing a canopy, one of the Eight Buddhist Emblems (bajixiang). The top of the stand is modelled as a lotus blossom raised on a stem of chevrons flanked by iron red and gilt scrolls, all raised on a domed base with a lappet band reserved on a lime green ground. There is an apocryphal Daoguang mark to the base.
The parasol roundel: 10.8 cm. diam
The stand: 19.5 cm. high
Condition: The upper section is loose from the stand.
There are traces of glue where the upper section meets the stand and where the column meets the lotus base.
The column is broken into two pieces and restuck with associated small chips.
