MAGNIFICENT, Pair of 18th C. Chinese Qing Dynasty Qianlong Emperor Reign Period (ca. 1735-1796 AD) Gilt Bronze Cloisonne Lidded Fruit Jars.
Two heavy cast gilt bronze unto compressed globular body. Decorated with arrays of repeated Ruyi, key fret, and auspicious motif ribbons on the domed lid. Cover bearing imperial double golden dragon embossed on the top center, each facing toward centralized Spring character above Ling-Zhi garden amidst scrolling clouds. All reserved in foulard patterned ground against attractive turquoise-blue enamel.
The cloisonne decorating has been done with impressive fluency and detail. This set from Qianlong's imperial workmanship is an absolute highlight.
Marked on Base, incised four gilt seal script characters, enclosed within red rectangular border, Made in The Years of Qianlong Reign Period (1735-1796).
