Pair of Chinese Qing Dynasty Tuisitang mark blue and white DouCai floral porcelain bowls. Finely potted unto a deep vessel, steep round sides to flat wide opening rim; raised on slightly concave footed base. The exterior adorned with soft color hand painting in DouCai design of four seasons flowers blooms out grew rockworks against clean white under-glazed ground. Banded with double fine blue ring beneath the rim and foot. DouCai means soft colors which fit together which is evident in this harmoniously painted bowl. The artistry is a combination of underglazed blue outlines and enamels added on top of the fired glaze, within the outlines. The drawing was superb contrasting the white background. The clay is very fine, with a brilliant finish that was applied by a meticulous glaze, the shape is uniformly proportioned.

A retired engineer and Christian School Administrator, has had the heart of a missionary to serve in many foreign countries aiding in building orphanages and hospitals in Russia, Romania, Ukraine, and other Asian countries. His present work is in Lima Peru. There he is using his talents to help develop safe drinking water and establish sanitary conditions inside the hospital. He is the parent to 16 children most of which are adopted from various countries. His worldwide travels have allowed him to enjoy the ability to collect treasures, some of his collection will be sold at auction to help raise funds for his ongoing work in Peru.
