Chinese Qing Dynasty Qianlong blue and white DouCai flower and bird porcelain horseshoe bowl. The porcelain cups are delicately potted with slightly rounded sides rising from footed base toward flat large opening, straight opening, curved side, slightly receded foot ring. The design is well-proportioned, the clay fine and exquisite, the glaze smooth with a moist appearance, the finishing meticulous. Each hand painted in very detailing in DouCai design of red flowers blooms interlocking with scrolling foliage and tendril creates a medallion on the center vessel. Surrounded with yellow peony, interlocking vines and foliage, and interlocking ruyi pattern on the foot base. Banded double fine blue ring on the upper rim and foot base. DouCai means soft colors which fit together which is evident in this harmoniously painted bowl. The artistry is a combination of underglazed blue outlines and enamels added on top of the fired glaze, within the outlines. This piece displays a subtle sheen , smoot glazed, brilliant with a moist appearance, the finishing meticulous.
