Chinese Ming blue and white double gourd porcelain vase. Potted in a shape of double gourd resemblance, with two bulbous bellies conjoined together, suspending a tall cylindrical neck, bulbous lower section finishing into a slender bottleneck at the top, with a narrow opening. Delicately decorated around the exterior with variegate tones and shades of cobalt blue, depicted the figure in a waterside landscape within a round shaped cartouche, interspersed by Longevity Shou medallions pendants. banded with many auspicious motifs and ruyi patterned ribbons. The glaze appearance on the blue painting resembled the texture of an orange peel ju-pi (chu-p'i) or a chicken skin. The glaze terminates slightly before the foot rim, showing a mixture of creme-colored clay and white glaze flecks left after the firing process surrounding the plain white glazed receded central base.
