RARE, 16th C Chinese Ming Dynasty blue and white wrapped floral porcelain bowl. With simply gently rounded side emerging steeply to a slightly everted rim, raised on concave footed ring base, with double blue fine rings conforming the foot base and rim. The exterior hand-painted in blue and white of interlocking scrolling tendril, vines motif, lotus blooms, interspersed repeating scrolling ruyi on the upper mouth rim, and foot base. With Arabic scripts beneath the mouth rim. The glaze appearance on the blue painting resembled the texture of an orange peel "ju-pi" (chu-p'i) or chicken skin. The immaculate porcelain body covered with a characteristic silky glaze, pooling on the base slightly veiling the mark. The porcelain conformed all required specimen to be highly valued Chinese Guanyao porcelain Imperial wares, with the finest material, the whiteness, the glaze, the painting, and the shape.
