Chinese Ming Dynasty blue and white figurines porcelain jar. Having thick body, sturdily potted in a bulbous body, gently tapered on shoulder toward prominent straight neck with wide opening. The exterior decorated with hand-painting in cobalt underglazed blue, depicted scholar and attendant in traverse within landscape. Its shoulder bordered with dense of floral diaper surrounding Bajixiang symbols inside ruyi shaped cartouches. Which foot banded with arrays of tropical leaves patterns. The glaze appearance on the blue painting resembled the texture of an orange peel "ju-pi" (chu-p'i) or a chicken skin. The underside unglazed, revealed the pale-creme ground revealed and dark grayish brown spotted firing marks and edge-cut foot rim. The porcelain conformed all required specimen to be high valued Chinese Guanyao porcelain Imperial wares, with finest material, the whiteness, the glaze, the painting, and the shape.
