Antique Chinese Shark Skin gilt bronze ceremonial saber and scabbard, Kang Xi mark. Chinese shark skin scabbard ceremonial saber. The elongated 'S'-shaped covered in green shark skin, embellished with an intricate sword-guard separating the slender blade, cast and intricately pierced with dragons patterns, auspicious motifs, and scrolling tendril vines. Dragon is the symbol of the Emperor, the Son of Heaven, eternity, Yang and Yin, male vigor and fecundity. The blade indented on each side with double long grooves, adorned with open carved coin-patterns in gilt, tapering to the gently upturned tip.
Having steel blade marked near the hilt, both side with gilt bronze dragons.
