Chinese Qing Dynasty douqing glazed begonia porcelain vase. Large bulbous vessel rising into a feminine tall neck toward characterizing floral-shaped rim enclosed the opening. The exterior is uniformly coated in a beautiful monochrome pale-celadon glaze. The pale-celadon glaze creates a mottled effect around the rim which is likened unto the blushing of human skin. The clay is very fine, with a brilliant finish that was applied by a meticulous glaze craftsman. The underside base reveals the pale white underglaze with a few striations.
