A 19th century continental silver coin peg tankard, maker's mark partially worn, probably Scandinavian or German, in the 17th century manner, the cylindrical body and hinged cover set with twenty-six coins from various German states and kingdoms including a 1693 Saxony-Albertine Klippe Thaler to the centre of the cover, the silver-gilt interior with five pegs, scroll handle, reclined lion thumb-piece, on three foliate capped lion and ball feet, with traces of gilding, height 20cm, approx. weight 58.5oz.
