A late Victorian silver plated claret jug, circa 1890, by William Fairbairns & Sons of London, of circular conical form, the glass body engraved with foliate and star decoration between two borders of ferns, the collar, 40mm (1?") deep, with complimentary engraving, plain sparrow beak spout and flat topped hinged cover with reeded thumbpiece, the simple leaf capped scroll handle supported from the collar and a reeded band attached midway down the body 25 x 12cm (10 x 5in)
