Large Chinese Ming Dynasty Period WuCai Jar. The ginger jar have a globular, bulbous to shoulder, short neck and flat base. Main Body decorated with hand painting in opaque color of densely scrolling lotus twigs curved interlocked supported around a "Shou" character. Bordered with repeating ruyi pattern on foot and rim. The underside base with an unglazed burnt brown-orange in the firing and edge-cut on the foot rim. The interior showing conjugated mark between top and lower separated body of correspondence kiln process technique. Underglaze WuCai painting are stable with subtle shades. The Lines of the drawings are clear; the light and dark shades are subtle. It is dense but not too crowded. Mark on collar, six blue script -KaiShu- characters; enclosed with square border; JiaJing Reign Period of Great Ming. Dimension: 17-3/8" H x 14-5/8" Diam.
