A Very Fine 19th C. Chinese Gilt Bronze Figure of Buddha. Seated in dhyanasana on a double-lotus throne with the hands in bhumisparsamudra, clad in a diaphanous sanghati with beaded hems, the face with serene expression centered by a raised urna and flanked by pendulous earlobes, the ushnisha topped with a knops. Extensive trace of gilt on surface and blue pigment on hair.The chest of Buddha shows an rectangular cut-out, a precisely fitting bronze comes with the sculpture. Mark on lotus throne pedestal, incised six script -KaiShu- characters, YongLe Reign Period of Great Qing. Aditional cut-out on reverse above the hip. Dimension: 8-3/4" H
