Group of six 19th century Japanese woodblock prints by Utagawa Kunisada (Toyokuni III) depicting kabuki actors. In one print, published by Jo-shu-ya, actors Bandou Minsuke and Kataoka Yoshimatsu play a young sumo wrestler and coach. Another print, which features Hyogo-ya Ujizato as a courtesan by a window with a roll of paper in right hand, was published by Tsujioka-ya Bunsuke and printed in 1859. The next print shows the actor Kawanzoshi Gonjuro with kumadori (stage makeup), and was published by Eli-yo Rinnoshka in 1862. The next prints feature a woman in a red interior scene, a woman in floral textiles, and a standing figure holding on to a boat. Heights range from 13 3/4 in to 15 in. Widths range from 9 1/4 in to 10 in.
