16th/17th century to KangxiThe first figure of a ferocious bearded Buddhist Guardian of the Four Directions, dressed in full battle armour, with later soapstone hands as if holding a spear, hongmu stand; the figure of the standing Immortal modelled with loose robes open at the large belly, the body and head biscuit fired, the robe with a dark blue lead glaze, atop a square plinth.
