17th/18th centuryThe recumbent bird with legs neatly tucked underneath, its long curving neck turned sharply towards the back, holding a lingzhi fungus sprig in its long beak falling over the wings incised with archaistic scrolls, the tail feathers finely picked out, the stone of greenish-white tone with minor russet inclusions. 8.5cm (3 3/8in) long.
