A JADE CRAB & MILLET, QIANLONGChina, 1736-1795. The stone of pale celadon color with a russet hue cleverly accentuating the crab’s thorax. Provenance: Hungarian private collection. Collector inventory number ‘325’ to base.Condition: Good condition with a small repair to the tip of the millet stem. Beautiful patina with some old wear. The stand with old weathering.Weight: 99.8 grams (the crab) and 141.7 grams (the ensemble).Dimensions: Length 9.6 cm.Finely carved in the round as a realistically rendered crab with eight limbs and two large pinchers, wreathed by a long slender stem bearing an ear of millet.
