Description: A Sumida Gawa pottery elephant pitcher. 19th/20th century. Top decorated with drip glaze. Red matte glaze ribbed ceramic body. Two unglazed applied elephants decorate ceramic body. Evidence of restoration to upper elephant's legs. Chips throughout red glaze on ceramic body. Marked near base in porcelain plaque: Koko. 12" x 7 3/4" x 5 5/58".
