Description: Qing Dynasty, the seal powerfully carved in high relief with three chilong, each horned mythical beast meticulously rendered with a finely incised mane above piercing eyes and a pronounced snout, inscription on one side of the seal, the seal face carved with a three-character inscription reading hu nan xun fu duan fang zhi yin, (seal of the Hunan Governor Duan Fang). Height 1 1/2 in., 3.7 cm. Provenance: John Lee, a dedicated sealcollector residing in Atlanta GA, has travelled to many Asian countries since the 60s, where he acquired many exquisite and antique seal chops.
