Tang Dynasty, 618-906 AD. A bronze mirror with elaborately decorated reverse, wide raised rim with tendrils, two borders with horizontal lines, six shields with raised bosses in between, the centre with eight further bosses, scrolls in between, central pierced boss on a cross-shaped base with pelta-shaped arms; the obverse polished. 521 grams, 17cm (6 3/4").
