Famed for the Royal Oak, Nautilus and Ingenieur designs, Gerald Genta also gave the horological world the Universal Polerouter. The Polarouter or Polerouter (depending on the execution of the model) was introduced in 1954 when Universal commissioned Genta to commemorate the Scandinavian Airlines System (SAS) polar flights from the US to Europe.
