Description: Antique Newari Copper Repousse Wheel of Life(Sanskrit: Bhavacakra) wall plaque with Yama, the wrathful Monster of Impermanence, clasping the cosmos to illustrate the temporary nature of all existence. Yama wears a five-petal crown and has a Third Eye of Wisdom in the center of his forehead. He grasps the wheel tightly in his hands and legs just as human being cling tenaciously to their own ingrained habits and beliefs. His four limbs represent the sufferings of birth, old age, sickness and death. Kathmandu Valley, Nepal.
