Provenance:See an Old Friend Arts and Antiques, Hong KongThe four-claw dragon is a familiar motif during the Kangxi period. It appears in underglaze-blue and copper-red, coloured enamel, as well as doucai. Probably the most similar decoration to this lot appears on a bottled vase, see Kangxi, Yongzheng, Qianlong Qing Porcelain from the Palace Museum Collection, Beijing, 1989, p. 23. The closest shape is found in the Victoria and Albert Museum, London, published in Rose Kerr, Chinese Ceramics.
