A GOLD, SHELL, TURQUOISE AND CORAL BRACELET, BY ALDO DEL NOCE, CIRCA 1960Composed of a line of polished turbo shell links, set at both ends with an oval coral corallium rubrum or turquoise cabochon, with polished gold details, signed Aldo del Noce on each links, length approximately 21.3cm** Please note that this lot contains coral and is subject to CITES regulations when exporting outside of the EU.Aldo Del Noce’s began his jewellery career in 1937. He was hired as an apprentice by Seaman Schepps and continued a working relationship with that firm until 1992. Schepps became known as “America's Court Jeweller”, creating bold and classic-yet-whimsical designs, which no doubt influenced Aldo. After World War II he set up his own company to manufacture his pieces, of which many of the designs he copyrighted and he continues to make beautiful pieces today. The 1960s shell bracelet detailing cabochon turquoise and coral set in a warm gold is consistent with the influence that Schepps (known for huge luscious pieces with exotic materials) had on Del Noce. This bracelet is a bold fun summer piece, adding a splash of bohemian glamour to the wearer.
