Rare first & only edition of an attractively illustrated travel-report by the Russian artist Alexandre Yevgenievich Jacovleff (1887-1938) who between April 1931 and February 1932 took part in a motorised expedition across central Asia (known as “La croisière jaune”, the route went from Beirut to Beijing) under direction of the French travellers Georges-Marie Haardt (1884-1932) & Louis Audouin-Dubreuil (1887-1960) organized by the French automobile manufacturer André-Gustave Citro?n (1878-1935). The large-sized illustrations (ca. 38 x 27,5 cm.) depict mainly portraits of men and women from i.a. Afghanistan, China, Kyrgyzstan, Mongolia & Persia. ? Portfolio (sl.) discol./ browned, ribbon ties sl. worn. The text-booklet lacks the twisted raffia-cord as binder, occ. sl. foxed/ browned (due to off-setting), but else in good condition.
