Impressive large-sized wall-map (depicting France & parts of England, the Netherlands, Germany, Switzerland, Austria, Italy & Spain) originally published by the Dutch cartographers Johannes Covens (1697-1774) & Cornelis Mortier (1699-1783). Very rare re-edition published by Cornelis Covens (1764-1825) with large engraved cartouche “Groot Toneel Des Oorlogs, tusschen de Geallieerde Mogendheden en het Fransche Ryk. Grand Théatre de la Guerre, entre les Puissances Alliées et l’Empire Fran?ois. à Amsterdam, chez Mortier, Cóvens et Fils” (referring to the Napoleonic Wars in the period 1803-1815) attached in the upper left corner replacing the original engraved allegorical cartouche with Latin caption (“Galliae Regnum in omnes suas Provincias [..]”). ? With defects (horizontal & vertical folds, sl. creased, waterstained in lower (blank) margin, sl. foxed/ browned), but nevertheless in an acceptable condition (not examined out of frame).
