* A QAJAR AUBERGINE GLASS EWER? PROPERTY FROM AN IMPORTANT EUROPEAN PRIVATE COLLECTION Iran, 19th century? With a globular body, worked with drop-shaped gadrooning and ridged circular base, the hot-worked handle and scrolling decoration decorating the waisted tall neck, the very thin curved spout ending with a tri-lobed finial, both the handle and the spout imitating stylised Timurid dragons,?19.5cm high. It is worth noting that an almost identical ewer is preserved in the Islamic Art collection of the Georgia National Museum in Tbilisi. The inventory number is not available at present but the ewer was presented at the 8th Bahari lecture at SOAS, University of London, on 13th March 2019, by the curator of the collection, Dr. Irina Khoshoridze.
