TWO CHINESE SWATOW WARE UNDERGLAZE SLIP PAINTED SEMI GLAZED PLANTER SAUCERS, IN THE MING DYNASTY (1368-1644) TASTE, the largest example with blue/black underglaze slip painted decoration of plants growing from woven baskets interspersed by brushy curls, centering an unglazed ring surrounding a central brushwork character encircled by a blue ring, verso the thick greyish glaze decorated with multiple rings, raised on an unglazed foot, diameter: 11.375"; the smaller example with brushy tendrils surrounding the interior bowl edge, with repeating unglazed central motif, diameter: 9.875".
