Description: A somewhat naive image of Ganesha, a pre-cursor to the Angkor Wat style. The style of inscription indicates a pre-Angkor date, however the stele does not appear to be dated. The stele is inscribed with multiple lines of sanskrit text on its front and rear. In addition to being decorated with a seated Ganesha the rear of the Stele shows the lotus flower. Loose mounted to a wood base (later). Provenance: Ex- private US Collection.
