Artist Biography: Katsuyuki Nishijima was born in 1945 in the Yamaguchi Prefecture. He began his studies of woodblock printing at Mikumo Publishing house in Kyoto. He maintains the tradition print process when creating his woodblocks. His prints do not feature people but instead they feature landscapes and places that evoke a sense of traditional Japanese culture.
