Description: Pair of Japanese ceramic Satsuma vases from the Meji period, 19th century. Each six-sided baluster vase hand-painted and gilded with a central scene of immortals with a white dragon. The foot with a faux basket weave and the neck with the Shimazu family crest reserved on a ground of stylized scales and clouds. The base with the Satsuma mark. Dimensions are: 12 1/2 inches tall X 6 1/2 inches diameter. All measurements are approximate.
