Description: Emblazoned tray with the weapons of the Scottish Gordon clan, in blue and white porcelain from the Indies Company, and polychrome glazing, Qing Dynasty, Qienlong Period m.1780.
With the motto Dum Sisto Vigilo (While I'm still I watch). Two table services from the Indies Company of the Gordon Family are known, this being the most common, which differ in the type of edge decoration. Copies of this service can be found in the Fine Art Museum of San Francisco and the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York.
