勞力士,非常罕有及精細,不銹鋼自動上弦鏈帶腕錶,配中心秒針及黑色蜂巢錶盤,“Milgauss”,型號6541,約1959年製
In the mid-1950s, the first Milgauss reference 6543 was named from the number thousand and gauss, the magnetic field unit. Only ever manufactured in stainless steel, it was created to meet the needs of technicians and scientists who work in potentially risky environments and are subject to magnetic fields. The main characteristic was its distinctive honeycomb dial, although it was the reference 6541, such as the present watch, which came soon after bearing the signature “thunderbolt” seconds hand. The reference 6541 had a guaranteed resistance to magnetism by the antimagnetic treatment of the mechanism and also by the presence of an additional inside case back made from non-magnetic conductor metal. Furthermore, the Milgauss references 6543 and 6541 include their references numbers stamped on the inside of the case back. The present 6541 is distinguished by its smooth bezel indicating it was made for the US market and the movement is stamped with the US “ROW” import mark.
