清十七/十八世紀 銅漆金大日如來坐像來源:比利時私人舊藏Hauteur: 51 cm. (20 in.)
Previously in a Belgian private collection.
The presented bronze figure, Vairocana or the ‘Radiant One’, is one of the five transcendental Buddha’s and occupies the central position amongst this group. He epitomises the blissful state of Buddha perfection and transforms hatred and ignorance into the wisdom of total understanding. Vairocana’s hands form the gesture of turning the wheel of the Buddhist Law (dharmacakramudra). Otherwise Vairocana is shown as a meditating bodhisattva, richly bejewelled and with a tall chignon. Thus representing the ‘body of bliss’ and meditated upon during advanced tantric rituals.
