A Chinese blue and white jar Of bulbous form and short straight neck, painted in brilliant shades of underglaze blue enamels with on the sides two large shaped panels, one decorated with the ‘Hundred Antiques’ motif of auspicious symbols, the other decorated with a man fishing on a promontory in a lake in a mountainous landscape; between each panel a boldly drawn shou-character, shoulder pierced with two holes on either side between the panels for attachment of metal handles, the neck with cloud scrolls, the base glazed. Period: Kangxi (1662 - 1722). Height: 15,5 cm, diameter: 17,5 cm.
