Ecritoire en laque (suzuribako), son couvercle orné d’un dessin représentant le courtisan de la période Heian, Ariwara no Narihira des Contes d’Ise (Isemonogatari) , chevauchant un cheval et accompagné d’un serviteur , en laque takamakie or et argent et par endroits d’incrustation de nacre (raden).Le couvercle présente à l’intérieur une peinture du mont Fuji, dans le style de Tosa, en laque takamakie dorée et argentée avec un peu d’or saupoudré (nashiji). L’intérieur de la bo?te est en laque dorée saupoudrée (nashiji) et comporte un plateau séparé pour une pierre à encre, deux pinceaux, deux couteaux à papier et un godet à eau en forme de bateau argentée. Les rebords de la bo?te sont en argent.Marque au-dessous: Zōhiko, un atelier de laque bien connu à Kyoto. The lid shows at the inside a Tosa-style painting of Mount Fuji in gold- and silver takamakie lacquer with some sprinkled gold (nashiji). The inside of the box is in sprinkled gold (nashiji) lacquer and has a separate tray for an inkstone, two brushes, two paperknives and a silver boat-shaped waterdropper.
