A Chinese early 18th century blue and white tea bowl and saucer, circa 1725, from the Ca Mau wreck, both pieces decorated with figures before a willow tree and pagodas, each with applied Sothebys label inscribed Ca Mau Binh Thuan. Diameters 7 cm and 11.5 cm. NOTE: The Ca Mau was a Chinese merchants junk on its way from Canton (Guang Zho) to the Dutch trading port of Batavia (Jakarta), a severe fire on board caused the vessel to sink (see illustration).
